Technology “addiction”
Jason Feifer’s Build for Tomorrow podcast has an episode saying that we’re not “addicted” to technology. I really enjoyed this episode and thought that it made a compelling case that “addiction” is the wrong word.
I do think that advertising-based social media is fueled by unhealthy engagement. It may not be “addictive” in a clinical sense, but it benefits from people being engaged, and often negatively engaged.
